May 19th Halfway Point Mileage Update.

With the decision to make the Quad Cities my turn around point – decided to give a quick and dirty mileage update.  Day 1  Blaine to Prescott, to Hastings - 52 miles. Day 2  Hastings to Maiden Rock - 37 miles.  Day 3  Maiden Rock to Merrick State Park - 44 miles.  Day 4  Merrick to Trempealeau - 21 miles.  Day 5 Trempealeau to Goose Island Campground south of La Crosse -  28 miles.  Day 6 Goose Island to Wyalusing State Park – 68 miles.  Day 7 Wyalusing State Park to Neslon Dewey State Park 23 miles.  Day 8, Nelson Dewey State Park to Galena  - 48 miles.  Day 9, Galena to Mississippi Palisades State Park 27 miles.  MP State Park to American Motor Inn in Rock Island, 67 miles.  If my math is anywhere near correct in my hurried state of mind, the total for the way down river comes to about 413 miles.  

With the early morning rains on hold, it was time to leave the American Motor Inn, and head out to the western side of the river and begin my journey home.  What adventures would I have?  Only time would tell - stay tuned for the rest of the story.
